💡 Si tu as aimé, tu vas adorer
Our full review
Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to live in a world where your deepest instincts dictate absolutely everything, where all of society is built on a ruthless biological hierarchy between alphas and omegas? A world where freedom is just an empty word, where every encounter can tip into the most brutal domination or the most consuming passion? That is exactly what Sara Fields offers with La Trilogie Omegaborn, and trust me, once you set foot in this universe, there is no getting out. I devoured this trilogy in a single weekend, unable to put down my e-reader, my heart pounding with every chapter. This book grabbed me from the very first page to the very last, and I absolutely have to tell you about it. Get comfortable, because we are diving into a world where brutality and passion are one and the same.
📖 What it's about
We are thrown into a dark dystopian future where society is split into two biological castes: the alphas, dominant, powerful, nearly invincible, and the omegas, enslaved by urges they cannot control and oppressed by a system that treats them like property. In this world, being an omega means being prey. Omegas are locked up, controlled, sometimes sold to the highest bidder. Individual freedom simply does not exist for them, and those who try to resist end up broken or imprisoned in detention centers specifically designed to break them. The government maintains this hierarchy by force, and nobody dares question it. Nobody, except a few.
It is in this oppressive setting that we meet Raven, a rebellious young woman who refuses to submit to the system. She lives in the shadows, tries to go unnoticed, but her body betrays her. Something is changing inside her, a transformation she does not yet understand and that threatens to reveal her true nature to every alpha in the vicinity. When she crosses paths with Alix, an alpha with an overwhelming presence whose natural authority fills every room he enters, everything changes. He knows exactly what she is becoming. He recognizes the signs, the scents, the involuntary reactions of her body. And he has no intention of letting her go.
In parallel, the trilogy follows other equally captivating characters in storylines that weave together skillfully. Garret, Lothgar, and Ravick are alphas on a desperate mission to rescue Triss, an omega dear to them, held prisoner in one of those terrifying detention centers. Their quest is a blend of pure action and emotional tension. Viktor and Damiyen are involved in an underground omega liberation movement, and their heated exchanges about strategy add a fascinating political and moral dimension to the plot. They disagree on methods, and this friction between them creates some of the most striking dialogue in the book. And then there is Nikki, an unclaimed omega caught in a love triangle that threatens to explode at any moment and perfectly illustrates the contradictions of this universe.
The result is a dense, breathtaking saga that blends action, politics, survival, and a constant undercurrent of sexual tension. The worldbuilding is meticulously crafted, the universe is consistent in its brutality, and Sara Fields makes no concessions. You do not read this trilogy to relax with a cup of tea. You read it to be shaken, turned inside out, and completely absorbed.
👥 The characters
Raven is the kind of heroine who makes you want to shake her and cheer for her at the same time. She is stubborn, brave, sometimes reckless, but her determination to stay free in a world that wants to chain her commands respect. Her transformation into an omega is a fascinating narrative arc because she fights against her own biology, against what society expects of her, against the instincts pushing her toward an alpha she refuses to accept. She is not a passive heroine, far from it. Every decision she makes is an act of resistance, even when her own body pushes her in the opposite direction. It is this constant inner conflict that makes her journey so gripping and so authentic. You understand her, you root for her, you rage alongside her when the world keeps coming at her.
Alix, on his end, is an alpha far more complex than he first appears. He is not the brainless brute you might fear when reading the opening pages. He is protective, yes, possessive, certainly, but there is a surprising depth to his motivations and to the way he perceives the bond connecting him to Raven. This line perfectly sums up his perspective: "Elle avait toujours repondu a ma nature alpha, meme si elle ne le realisait pas." (She had always responded to my alpha nature, even if she didn't realize it.) He sees something in Raven that she does not yet recognize in herself, and this asymmetry of awareness creates a permanent tension between them. He knows what she is before she accepts it, and that changes the entire dynamic of their relationship. Every scene they share is an emotional and physical arm-wrestling match, a power game where the roles are never quite set in stone. Alix dominates, yes, but Raven never fully gives in, and it is this resistance that fascinates him as much as it frustrates him.
The secondary characters bring an enormous amount of richness to the trilogy as a whole. The trio of Garret, Lothgar, and Ravick offers a striking counterpoint to the main story with their rescue mission charged with urgency and absolute loyalty. Their group dynamic, their brotherhood in the face of danger, gives the narrative action-packed moments that shift the pace in a welcome way. The relationship between Viktor and Damiyen raises broader questions about resistance, sacrifice, and the moral boundaries you are willing to cross for a just cause. Nikki, caught between two alphas who both want her, represents another face of the omega condition, that of a woman who has not yet been claimed and must navigate alone in a world where everyone wants to decide for her. Her arc is perhaps the most moving in the entire trilogy.
❤ What we loved
The first major strength of this trilogy is without a doubt the worldbuilding. Sara Fields has constructed a dystopian universe that truly holds together from start to finish. Everything is thought through down to the finest detail, from the social hierarchy to the biology of alphas and omegas, to the political stakes of liberation and the mechanisms of control used by those in power. You can tell the author took the time to develop her world before dropping us into it, and it shows on every page you turn. The descriptions are immersive, the atmosphere is oppressive in exactly the right way, and you genuinely feel like this world could exist somewhere in a dark future. The omega prison with its metallic corridors, the dark streets of the lower city where the rebels hide, the resistance hideouts in damp basements, everything is visual and tangible. This is sensory worldbuilding, and it is exactly what makes this dystopia so memorable.
Then there is the tension. Good lord, the tension. Between Alix and Raven, it is pure electricity at every moment. Every exchanged glance, every physical contact even accidental is loaded with an intensity that takes your breath away. Sara Fields masters the art of slow burn laced with brutality like few authors can. You feel that something powerful and inevitable is simmering between them from their very first encounter, and the author takes her time building the pressure, chapter after chapter, until it becomes almost unbearable. The verbal confrontation scenes are just as thrilling as the intimate scenes, because the power dynamic is always there, always shifting, never settled. (I am about to discover what being an omega means...), you feel that everything is about to tip over, that the point of no return is approaching, and the shiver running down your spine is absolutely real. It is the kind of line that stays in your head long after you close the book.
Finally, the action and confrontation scenes are masterfully handled. The passage where Garret, Lothgar, and Ravick launch their assault to save Triss is a true piece of literary bravery. The action is fast, brutal, visceral, and you hold your breath from start to finish without being able to stop. Sara Fields manages the pacing of these sequences perfectly and knows how to alternate between moments of pure violence and quieter instants where the characters reveal their vulnerability beneath their alpha armor. The tense conversation between Viktor and Damiyen about their liberation mission is another standout moment, because it raises the fundamental question of the price to pay for freedom and the moral compromises that resistance demands of those who commit to it. These reflective moments give the trilogy a depth that goes beyond the usual scope of dark romance.
🔥 The spice level
Let's talk about it honestly, because it is what you are really here for when you open an article on this blog. La Trilogie Omegaborn absolutely does not do anything by halves when it comes to intimate scenes, and that is a good thing. The alpha/omega dynamic naturally lends itself to power dynamics of domination and submission, and Sara Fields exploits the full potential of this dynamic without ever holding back. The scenes are raw, explicit, detailed, and fully own their rough, animalistic side. The scene between Nikki and Ethan, in particular, is so intense it literally pins you in place and makes you forget to breathe. There is an almost savage dimension to these moments, entirely driven by the characters' biology, their irrepressible instincts, the omega heat rising like a fever, the visceral need of the alpha to possess and protect. This is not soft romance with coy metaphors. This is raw, carnal passion in a world without pretense or filter. If you like your scenes direct, physical, and totally unapologetic, you are going to be well served. The tension accumulated over entire chapters makes each scene all the more explosive and liberating when it finally arrives.
⚠ The small downside
If I have to be honest, and that is the core principle of this blog, the beginning of the trilogy left me a bit lost. Sara Fields throws a huge amount of information about how her universe works in the very first chapters, the biology of alphas and omegas, the complex social rules, the political context, the different factions, and it is frankly a lot to digest all at once when you just want to get into the story. I genuinely wish these elements had been woven in more gradually throughout the plot rather than presented as a near-encyclopedic block. The other small point that bothered me at times is a certain repetitiveness in the relationship dynamics between the different couples. The pattern of the dominant alpha claiming his reluctant omega shows up in every narrative arc, and even though the characters are well differentiated, you sometimes feel the underlying mechanics running on a loop. Nothing deal-breaking though, but it is worth keeping in mind.
⭐ Final verdict
La Trilogie Omegaborn is an intense, addictive, and utterly uncompromising read. If you love dark romance with a real world built behind it, characters who fight as fiercely physically as they do emotionally, and intimate scenes that leave absolutely nothing to the imagination, go for it without hesitation. It is the kind of saga you devour on a stormy evening tucked under your blanket, your phone on airplane mode, completely cut off from the outside world. I warmly recommend it to anyone who has enjoyed alpha/omega dynamics in fiction and is looking for a dark dystopia with real narrative stakes beyond the romance. Sara Fields's writing is efficient and punchy, and she knows when to accelerate the pace and when to let her characters breathe. Just keep in mind that the first chapters require a little adjustment effort, but once you are in, I guarantee you will not be able to put it down.
💡 If you liked this, you'll love
If La Trilogie Omegaborn blew your mind and you are looking for your next read in the same vein, I suggest checking out Omega's Captive by Ava Sinclair, which explores similar dynamics in an equally dark setting, with a heroine who stubbornly refuses to play by the rules. In a slightly different register but with the same emotional intensity and that constant tension between domination and vulnerability, The Darkest Love by Carian Cole should also appeal to you if you like it when feelings are as violent as the action scenes. And if you want to stay in the francophone omegaverse, look into recent translations by Reese Morrison or Sabine Hult, who offer equally rich universes with fascinating power dynamics. You will not be disappointed.

No te decepcionarán.
❤ Was uns begeistert hat
👥 I personaggi
I personaggi secondari portano enormi ricchezze all'intera trilogia.
